Keep Noblesville Beautiful Summer Update

We're grateful to Mayor Jensen and all the city employees, including first responders, that mobilized so quickly to help people affected by the recent historic flooding. It has been a long week for them and we appreciate all they are doing to keep everyone safe and informed.

The clean-up phase is now beginning. Our partners at SERVE Village are spearheading this effort. If you would like to help, you can register at SERVE Village.

Thank you to everyone who is giving of your time and energy to help our community recover. It is truly heartwarming to see the outpouring of support. 

200th Anniversary of Riverside Cemetery

Keep Noblesville Beautiful participated in a dedication ceremony on August 11th to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of Riverside Cemetery and the first burial at the site. Representatives from Daughters of the American Revolution, Horseshoe Prairie Chapter were present along with Mayor Chris Jensen, City Board of Public Works and Safety, the City Clerk’s Office, Hamilton County Master Gardener Association and many other community members.

Keep Noblesville Beautiful and Hamilton County Master Gardeners created a garden surrounding the monument along with a reflection bench and arbor. The plants were selected based on their color, use and meaning in historical times. The garden spent the weekend under water, but we are happy to report it survived and is looking great! This public space is now available for everyone to enjoy and reflect on the beauty and history that is Riverside Cemetery.

KNB Receives a Grant from HCCF

Keep Noblesville Beautiful received a grant from Hamilton County Community Foundation (HCCF) to help refurbish a courtyard garden for students with special needs at Noblesville High School. HCCF, established in 1991, is a $140 million public foundation working to mobilize people, ideas and investment to make this a community where every individual has an equitable opportunity to reach their full potential. The foundation aims to build a community where opportunity meets growth for everyone, and philanthropic efforts support nonprofit organizations doing vital work.

The grant funds will be used for the design of the garden and removal of invasive species. It will also help with the purchase of native plants and herbs for students to grow and sell. Other elements that will be added to the space include an ADA swing, benches and sensory stations.

KNB Chairperson Darren Peterson stated "This grant award from Hamilton County Community Foundation will allow Noblesville High School and its partners to complete this project in the coming school year. It will be an exciting outdoor classroom for students to gain experience with horticulture and develop life skills they can take with them after graduation."

KNB at the Noblesville Farmers Market

KNB will be at the Farmers Market this Saturday, August 22nd from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This week’s market will be at a temporary location at Noblesville City Hall parking lots at 16 S. 10th Street. Come and get some free native seeds, including Lanceleaf Coreopsis and Hairy Penstemon that have been harvested from the pollinator garden at 191st Street and Little Chicago Road. These plants provide bright yellow and beautiful purple blooms during the summer months. We look forward to seeing you at the market!

Hamilton Co. Non-Profit Collective Lead Local

KNB will be at the Hamilton County Non-Profit Collective Lead Local event on September 3rd at the Westfield Washington Public Library.
